Ankle Weights Review

When you are doing different ab exercises where you lift your legs, there comes time you would like to have more resistance into your training.

When you start to be able to do 50 - 60 leg lift sets it is obvious that there is no point anymore just doing the leg lifts. It is either time to choose another exercise or try to make it more challenging. There aren’t that many options if you are doing leg lifts, to get more resistance you need to get more weights into your legs and what would be better than weights on your ankles.

There is an answer to your needs, ankle weights. Ankle weights are a piece of ab exercise and fitness exercising equipment; they are weights that are can be worn on your ankles strapped around them. A good pair of ankle weights is firm and doesn't hurt your ankles. There are two kinds of ankle weights around, those with non-adjustable weight and adjustable ankle weights. The non-adjustable ankle weights usually are a bit better and more comfortable around your ankle, but a good adjustable ankle weights aren't that bad either, and they do have the added bonus that as you progress you don’t need to buy new ankle weights every time, you just add more weights to your existing ankle weights.

Ankle weights can be used in any leg lifting or other exercises where you use your feet to make it harder. Ankle weights are great for example for walking, this gets your legs a completely new kind of exercise and walking has never felt that hard. Still, they are especially good for ab exercising, only problem in the long run is that when you start need to use big ankle weights the exercises tend to workout your legs more and more instead of your abdominal muscles. All in all, I think as an ab exercise equipment as basic as ankle weights are one of the better ab exercise equipments around.
